Abhishek Bachchan (born 5 February 1976) is an Indian actor, producer and playback singer best known for his work in Hindi films. He is the son of veteran actors Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan. His grandfather, Harivansh Rai Bachchan, was a noted poet of the Nayi Kavita Literary Movement of the Hindi literature and professor at the Allahabad University in Uttar Pradesh. The original surname of his family is Srivastava, Bachchan being the pen name used by his grandfather. However, when Amitabh entered films, he did so under his father's pen name. Bachchan is of Kayastha heritage on his father's side, Bengali from his mother's side and Punjabi from his grandmother's side.
One of what is arguably the best defensive partnership in the Premier League. Abhishek Bachchan is a man of total commitment and stereotypical Defender qualities. His popularity is a testimony to this alone, and you'll frequently see him with a bleeding head whilst continually playing. He is the current "Terry Butcher character" in the ASFC team, and would be sorely missed if he out of action. His partnership with his other partner centre back is utterly superb; people say that this is because of Bachchan Jr commanding nature. That's partly it, but we also point out that they play to each other's skills. His partner might be technically skilled, pacy centre back who can distribute play. Abhsihek Bachchan is the strong, determined defender who often scores last ditch headers. And it's because of this ideaology, this ying-and-yang, that they are so successful.

They say- After a long dark night... The sun will rise. Sunrise is a symbol of a new beginning. Manmarziyaan, for me, was that new beginning. I hope I can payback the faith that Anurag Kashyap 2.0, Aanand L Rai and Kanika Dhillon had and showed in me by giving me the opportunity to be a part of this film. So here's to eternal hope and beautiful sunrises! #Manmarziyaan #RoadToManmarziyaan #TakeTwo
This was my second day of shoot in Amritsar. A wonderful scene when Robbie meets Rumi for the 1st time. The location was this beautiful house in the centre of old Amritsar which was meant to be Rumi's home. Had posted some photos I had taken from this terrace during the shoot. If you scroll through my photos you'll see them. #RoadToManmarziyaan, over the next couple of weeks I'll share photos from the sets which in a way symbolise my journey during the making of this film. Some personal anecdotes, experiences or just visuals I liked. I want to thank the immensely talented Khamkha PhotoArtist for all these beautiful photos and for being such a sport always. Let the countdown begin.... 📸: Khamkha PhotoArtist #Manmarziyaan #TakeTwo
